--------- Installing for Windows 95/98/Millenium/NT/2000/XP/Vista/7/8: -------------

1. Log on as Administrator or as a user with software installation privileges

2. Double-click on the file  InstallMotionGenesisToCDrivePC.exe  and then click OK

3. Accept the default folder for the Java .dll files by clicking NEXT.
   (These files may already be installed.  You may skip or overwrite them.)
   Wait until the .dll files are extracted and installed.

4. If licensed, copy your  MGLicense.txt  file to the MotionGenesis folder.

5. Double click on MotionGenesisStartHere  to start MotionGenesis.

6. Double-click on  PlotGenesis  to start the plotting software.
   If PlotGenesis does not start:
   a. Browse to the PlotGenesis folder and double-click on InstallSNJavaDlls.exe
   b. Accept the default folder for the Java .dll files by clicking NEXT.
      (These files may already be installed.  You may skip or overwrite them.)
   c. Wait until the .dll files are extracted and installed.
   d. Double-click on  PlotGenesis  to start the program.
   e. Ensure PlotGenesis.exe is in the PlotGenesis folder with wgnuplot.exe
      Double-click on  PlotGenesis.exe  in the PlotGenesis folder.

7. For instructions on using the program, refer to the:
   a. Online Help system (type HELP at the program prompt)
   b. Getting Started at www.MotionGenesis.com
   c. Program's dynamics and motion simulation textbooks (visit www.MotionGenesis.com)


----------------------- INSTALLING TO ANOTHER FOLDER  -------------------------------
Request the installer  InstallMotionGenesisToCurrentFolderPC.exe  (not available by default)

Replace the previous numbered instructions as follows:

2. On your hard drive, create a folder (directory), e.g.,  C:\MyFolder
   Copy the file  InstallMotionGenesisToCurrentFolderPC.exe  to C:\MyFolder.
   From within C:\MyFolder, double-click on InstallMotionGenesisToCurrentFolderPC.exe.

5. If you installed to a folder that is not  C:\MotionGenesis,
   a.  Right-click on the shortcut MotionGenesisStartHere (.lnk)
   b.  Select Change Properties,
   c.  Correctly edit the "Target" text box to target MotionGenesis.exe

   Double click on MotionGenesisStartHere  to start MotionGenesis.


6. If you installed to a folder that is not  C:\MotionGenesis,
   a.  Right-click on the shortcut PlotGenesis (.lnk)
   b.  Select Change Properties,
   c.  Correctly edit the "Target" text box to target
       MGToolbox\PlotGenesis\PlotGenesis.exe

   Double-click on  PlotGenesis  to start the plotting software.


------------------------------ ADVANCED NOTES ---------------------------------------
A. Double-clicking on  MotionGenesisStartHere  starts the program.
   This is the Windows shortcut file  MotionGenesisStartHere.lnk
   To cause  MotionGenesisStartHere  to SAVE files to a different folder:
   a.  Right-click on the shortcut MotionGenesisStartHere (.lnk)
   b.  Select Change Properties
   c.  Edit the "Start-in" text-box

B. To alternate between an editor and running a file named Fred.txt,
   a.  Double-click on  MotionGenesisTerminal  to open a CMD terminal.
   b.  Type  MotionGenesis Fred.txt
   c.  Type  Quit
   d.  Use the editor to modify and SAVE Fred.txt
   e.  Press the up-arrow key in the CMD terminal to recall the command
       MotionGenesis  Fred.txt
   f.  Press Enter to again run MotionGenesis with the file named Fred.txt
   g.  Repeat steps c-f

C. To run an AUTOLEV file, start with the command:
   SetDefaults( AUTOLEV )
